So what's new as far as fast SSD drives go? I currently have an OCZ Vertex 2 60 gig drive, it operates great.

But now I'm interested in a 120 gig SSD, perhaps larger. Is anything new on the market that has the controller in the Vertex 2 to avoid degredation (no TRIM in OSX), and comes close in speed, yet is more reasonably priced?

Intel G3s and SandForce-2000 drives are coming early next year. Currently, Vertex 2 is still one of the fastest and best drives available. If you're looking to buy one now, you could get another 60GB Vertex 2 and put them in RAID 0 to get theoretically double the speed.

Or just get a C300 and get almost double the speed lol.

Only if you have SATA 6Gb/s and it's nowhere near double the speed (355MB/s vs 285MB/s). Besides, Crucials suffer from heavy degradation without TRIM thus they are not a great choice for Mac due to lack of TRIM support in OS X.
