Latest Software update inc iTunes 7.7 > kernel panic on G5 iMac

I've just run the latest Security update/itunes 7.7 etc update, and, joy of joys, my trusty 2ghz G5 non webcam iMac now gets as far as the 4 language kernel panic screen and locks.
I've tried Pram zap to no avail.

Any ideas people?
