Hello,

I have just installed the latest software update from apple and as soon as it was done my fans started on full blast. I quit all apps and waited and the fans remained on. After that I restarted and they were still on so I shut down and waited 1-2 mins and restarted. As it was starting up the fans got faster and faster till they were on full blast.

My current rig- Macbook -1st gen- 10.5.5- 2.2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo

Does anybody else have this problem?

or

Does anyone know how i can fix this problem?

Thanks,

Lt. Nighthawk

You may have noticed it in the past, but OS updates always seem to tax the Mac system on restart until, as people often post, 'things settle down'. I'm skeptical about that, because an update should improve and stabilise the OS - shouldn't it???

Anyway, switch your Mac off and unplug it overnight to see if that helps to restore things to normal operating temps once the MB is switched back on.

Probably too much of a coincidence, but check the air intake vent to see if something is hindering airflow.

False Alarm

Hey,

Thanks for the reply but just a quick update. Someone had been playing a fps game (Sauerbraten =]) before I updated and it was a known glitch.

Thanks,
