Maybe I’m way off the mark here, but Snoopy is just Boomer humor. No one born after 1985 is going to know what Snoopy is or care about it, other than that old cartoon their grandma made them watch once.
They should make some Snoop Dogg screen savers.Maybe I’m way off the mark here, but Snoopy is just Boomer humor. No one born after 1985 is going to know what Snoopy is or care about it, other than that old cartoon their grandma made them watch once.
In a way, it has taken billions of years.
Confirmed on 2nd Gen. Where my Foundation screensavers is what I want to know!Unless you have the latest Apple TV 4K (3rd gen) the automatic aspect ratio support is not present. Snoppy screensaver is on both 2nd gen and 3rd gen.
1st Gen AppleTV 4k also doesn’t have the new voice enhancement or FaceTime integration.Stupid Apple thinks I'll buy a new Apple TV because of Snoopy. How pathetic
Yes, I know. But this seems silly to me. I don't even remember ever seeing a screen saver on my Apple TV. The point is that Apple makes exclusivity out of such a small thing. From my point of view, Apple is falling to a low level1st Gen AppleTV 4k also doesn’t have the new voice enhancement or FaceTime integration.

Only for the new Apple TV. The original 4K doesn’t have these.
Are you serious? Like for real?
Holy wow this stupid, even for Apple’s typical “not supported on older hardware” nonsense.
Is this confirmed? If so, that's unreal...
lol Crazy yes it's for real. I just update my Gen 1 4k ATV. Not there. Stupid.
While I do agree it sucks for 1st Gen AppleTV 4K owners, I just wanted to point out that Apple has been pulling stunts like this for at least 20 years (if not more).I like that Apple cares about the customer first and foremost.
But maybe we are low on memory in Apple 4K 1st gen 🤣🤣🤣
I guess Snoopy must be getting hard to work with as he approaches his 75th birthday. I'm glad he wasn't put down and Apple was able to complete his screen savers.
The third beta of tvOS 18.2 that Apple provided to developers today adds a selection of new Snoopy screen savers that can be set as an alternative to the aerial, memory, and portrait screen saver options.

Apple first announced the Snoopy screen savers way back in June when tvOS 18 was first unveiled, but there had been no sign of them since then. With tvOS 18.2, Snoopy fans will finally be able to set Snoopy as their screen saver.
Apple has an existing partnership with Peanuts, and there is already a Snoopy watch face available on the Apple Watch. Peanut specials and classic episodes are also available on Apple TV+.

And I think that’s the way it should be. If devices/services aren’t meeting needs, people should move to other devices/services. Apple’s focus is on “new” customers, and it has been for awhile. They consider it a win if they get 2-3 users today to replace folks that haven’t bought anything for some time.Apple "Books" is a steaming pile of ****... but look New Emojis , New Screen savers.
Apple keeps forcing me more and more away from their ecosystem.
I have 2012 Mac Mini running OSX server... moving to RPi / Linux
I have Airport base stations ... moving to Grandstream
I have some "Home" devices ... moving to Zigbee
I use iTunes for streaming home movies ... moving to Jellyfin
All of my other Apple devices still work, when they die I will assess what I replace them with, but I do not see me buying any Apple stuff for the next 4 years or so. They are tools, not fashion items.
Why can’t we add our own screen savers?
You are going to trigger someone posting AI art here.I was wondering why I couldn’t find them, like this has to be a joke right? Between stuff like this and the original Apple Watch Ultra being obsolete already I have just smashed all my Apple products and ordered Google stuff.
It was caught on camera for those that don’t believe me.

Well asked and answered lol by the comment directly after yours. What is Apple's obsession with this old cartoon? Lol, I can't figure it out.
One of the c-suite executives have some kind of severe case of longing for their childhood?
While I hate to admit it, I think you’re right.Maybe I’m way off the mark here, but Snoopy is just Boomer humor. No one born after 1985 is going to know what Snoopy is or care about it, other than that old cartoon their grandma made them watch once.
