My Apple TV (4th gen) has been running really well, without any faults. But since upgrading to the latest version of tvOS, whenever I start it up I receive a message briefly in the top-right corner, saying that the network is not connected. It goes away after a second and everything runs normally (however if I try to open an app too quickly after startup, the app will think the Apple TV is offline).
This never happened with the original tvOS, and the box is connected to ethernet so it shouldn't need to drop the connection. Is anyone else having this problem? Is there some kind of power-save setting that can be adjusted to prevent it from disconnecting?

Odd -- haven't run into this on my ATV4 with the current, or previous, versions of tvOS. Maybe contact Apple Support or bring it in the Genius Bar...?

I have the same issue and i have mine connected with an ethernet cable. I have noticed like you mentioned if I wait a little while to open an app the issue goes away.

Same here.. Although it's been happening with tvOS 9.0 as well. And oddly enough - this only seems to be an issue with 1 of the my 3 ATV4 units.

I'm new to all this, but is it displaying "no signal" and is that due to your ATV being asleep?

I think I fixed this, by doing Restore and setting everything up from scratch. Since I did this - ATV4 is visible as AirPlay destination while asleep, which wasn't happening before.

I tried a full restore but I still have this issue. The atv is disconnected from the network when waking from sleep. Also before the so update while sleeping it still did show up on our iOS devices as an AirPlay target. Now it doesn't.
Anyone else done a restore and the issue did not go away?

If your ATV showed up as AirPlay target - then it was not disconnected from your local network. Apple devices announce their AirPlay capabilities via Bonjour, and local network connectivity is required for this to work. Perhaps you were/are dealing with a different sort of issue..

FWIW, I have not seen any more issues like this since I did my restore.

It showed up as an AirPlay target in standby before the tvos update. After only when it's on and I restart the atv to get it connect to the network again. For now I will just keep it on all the time.
