No I’m on the latest 9.2 beta but I can’t find it
I am also very curios how to access race routes on my Apple Watch with latest beta installed as there is no option for „race route“ showing up in the list of training activities!

Since i installed the 9.2 beta on my Apple Watch i ran approx. 10 times the same route without ever offered a Race Route option. Would love to know how to use this?

Tap the three dots on the Outdoor Run activity, it should show you various pre-set types of runs, the race routes among them. If you can’t see any, try tapping the Filter icon on top of the list and choose to view all options.

When i tap the three dots on the Outdoor Run activity i have a set of predefined runs (Filter is set to ALL) but unfortunately race route is not among them. I can only see Distance, Pacer, Open, Time, Kilocalories and a button for „Create workout“.

When i create my own workout there is also no „Race Route“ available.

I am currently on WatchOS 9.2 RC (20S361).

Maybe the missing option for Race Route has something to do with my location (Europe) or it is just unavailable for my Apple Watch 7 LTE.

That’s weird. I’m in Europe too, and even with the same version of Watch. It totally should be in the predefined ones (can’t create it - as it’s a reference to an existing previous run), maybe someone here will have an idea what’s the reason..? It’s not the location or Watch model, so perhaps some settings 🤔

Based on your reply i just did a complete reset (with backup restore) on my Apple Watch but still Race Route does not show up. All the apps on my Apple Watch should have the appropriate permissions for GPS since i can also see the exact running route after workout on my iPhone.

In this case i am really clueless and have no idea what else to do...?

The trouble is there’s no clear guidelines available about how the feature works… 🤨 When looking in my available routes to race against, I only see four different ones, not all. The marketing texts from Apple talk about “frequently used routes” though - which seems to match my experience, I have recently used the displayed routes multiple times indeed. 1-2 runs don’t seem to be enough.

So, perhaps try recording several tests runs on the same route (not sure how many… maybe 5 could work?), and see if the race route option pops up…

Well i have ran the same route approx. 40x in the past 2 months.

What type of runs did you do?
Time, Distance, Open?

40x seems pretty frequent 😃

I’m usually doing the Open type of run, 5-6 times a week, alternating various routes (though some of them repeat every week or so)
