I have had an absolute blast owning the rMB all summer. I was excited for it pre-announcement, and the wait from March to May was dreadful. I know there were some who ordered the rMB right when it came out, but decided that it wasn't for them.

I came from the 13" rMBP, and the rMB is definitely my ideal Mac. I had the Pro for the Retina display, so I didn't necessarily need the power/extra weight that came with it. I travel a lot, and I've used the Retina MacBook on long flights and trains.

Just curious how everyone else is finding it after 4 months or so. It seems like it isn't backordered anymore, so that's a good thing. This is an improvement on my previous Mac in every way.

I use mine at home and while traveling and couldn't be happier, well worth the asking price relative to the competition. Still working like a charm. The keyboard is a definite improvement. Battery still lasts me 9 hours (no degradation as reported by others). The speakers keep surprising me to this day by their loudness and clarity, even their bass. Overall a real joy to use and a perfect complement for the 27" iMac.

I've traveled with my 1.2 rMB and have since returned to higher education. I am truly impressed by this laptop. Glad this is my 1st Macintosh after ~10 years.

I like it a lot, but I must say that I loved the keyboard more in the beginning. For production typing the macbook pro keyboard works a lot smoother. Anyone else has the same?

I love the rMB keyboard myself. Much better than the previous keyboard on the Air/Pro. And I'm a writer, so I actually pound out a lot of words.

It's fine so far and does everything i need to do, which is what ive done for years with all my computers and tablets: writing (Word), email, surfing, research, streaming movies and tv, forums, etc.

Not happy. I think it is the worst Apple product I have owned..I have and have had a lot.

Slow and lack of power
Touchpad is erratic - jumping all over the place
Slow to connect to WiFi after "wake up"
Battery capacity is surprisingly limited
It uses battery when sleeping
Crashes (obviously a software problem but never happened before with other Apple computers)
Dongles for everything. Annoying.
Horrible with external monitor. Tried several kinds looks like crap.
Bluetooth dropping connection to Apple external touchpad and keyboard all the time

I sold my MB Air and Thunderbolt display. Big mistake....

Sounds like you got a lemon. i have a base -- not slow, doesn't crash, rarely needs a dongle for my use, but haven't had a need for bluetooth or external monitor, but assume it'll be fine.

My iPad Air has been collecting dust since I bought the rMB. I love it. I know is limitations and know what taxes it. It RARELY happens.

A long time Apple Laptop user (PowerBooks, MacBook Pros, MacBook Airs and now MacBook) I'm very pleased. I'm enjoying it more than I expected to like this model. I put a lot of heavy use and long hours my new 15" MBP for work. Therefore it's nice to have something different for light work, to take to Starbucks or wherever I'm headed since I'm on call at the lab and need a laptop to carry when I'm off. The MacBook is filling that need very well. It was very easy to acclimate to the shallow / short travel keyboard. With my input right back up to speed, I'm completely satisfied. Admittedly I'm picky about my Macs, this one hasn't disappointed me. :D

I love mine. I have the base model. I have been using it for school work during the school year. It works great and is light.

Recently I installed the El Capitan beta and I love split view on this thing. It is really useful in that safari gets auto resized. It is great to have two things side by side, or iMessage and safari or a video and browser, It really works great.

There are occasional glitches here and there but they don't bother me. I just ordered an Air 2 to compliment the macbook can't wait.
