launchd & tuncfg errors in Console

Lately I've been noticing a some performance issues and decided to keep an eye on my Console logs. I see the following errors over and over again and would like to remove them.

I did my fair share of googling and discovered that it's related to Hamachi. I vaguely remember playing around with Hamachi years ago and uninstalling it. I've followed directions on how to remove this vile process over and over again. I've downloaded a fresh copy of Hamachi, installed & uninstalled (within the Hamachi application) whatever it needs to run, rebooted and still find these errors. I've uninstalled the application with appzapper. I've seen posting on blogs suggesting I find specific files related to Hamachi, launchd, and tuncfg and deleted them but these errors still come back. Am I forgetting something?

I was having the same problem a while ago and as a workaround, used Lingon to disable (unchecked Enable) them

Name: com.hamachix.tuncfgd
What: /usr/sbin/tuncfgrelaunch

Ohmygoodness! Thanks for replying. Sadly, I don't see "com.apple.launchd" or anything mentioning "tuncfg" within that application. I'm unable to disable it. Do you have any further suggestions? This is such a pain in the neck. I just want this thing to not be running all the time.

Hi,

Take a look in the following directories:

~/Library/LaunchAgents
/Library/LaunchAgents
/Library/LaunchDaemons

You should find the tuncfg file in one of those.

Once you find it, you can to one of two things:

Option 1: Unload the service, then remove the file:

launchctl unload {full path to file}
e.g. launchctl unload /Library/LaunchAgents/com.tuncfg.plist

Then, delete the file.

Option 2: Delete the file, then reboot

Thanks for the speedy reply but unfortunately I don't see tuncfg in any of the folders you mentioned.

Where would tuncfg be located? I've followed the directions posted on the LogMeIn wiki http://logmeinwiki.com/wiki/Hamachi:Uninstall_on_OSX but none of the files it suggests I delete are to be found. It also says that tuncfg is "usually" located in /usr/sbin. Where else would it be? I've seen numerous posts on forums regarding this problem but it seems like everybody can delete the files without any issues. I see that tuncfg is running in my Activity Monitor but I can't find out where it's located at all. I've looked in bin & sbin in finder but I don't see anything with tuncfg or launchd in the name. I'm slightly beyond my comprehension in this area so I'm not sure how to proceed. I'm just sick of seeing this process running every 10 seconds. My console is filled with tuncfg & launchd logs.

I did find launchd in /sbin/launchd. Is that a way to fix this tuncfg error? About 1/3 of the messages in console are either:

com.apple.launchd[1] (tuncfg[50406]) Exited with exit code: 1
com.apple.launchd[1] (tuncfg) Throttling respawn: Will start in 10 seconds


Are there any other suggestions?

I've yet to get this problem figured out. In my attempts to get this damn error message fixed I've noticed something else. Whenever I attempt to run Hamachi it asks if it's okay to install some system resources. I allow it but whenever I reboot my iMac and run HamachiX again it says that the system resources aren't installed and if I'd like to install them. Another thing to note...whenever HamachiX is running I don't see the tuncfg & launchd errors. What the hell is going on with this thing?

I'm still checking in to see if anybody can help me out with this problem. I'm still getting a non-stop stream of error messages in my console. Does anybody have any suggestions? Here are some of the error messages I'm still getting.
