Same thing?

I've been using Quick-Tap for a long time. Is it not the same thing? Why was one allowed and one not? Strangely, I guess I've been so efficient navigating iOS that I haven used it and more or less forgot I had it until this article. You might check out Quick-Tap as its free.

Well that was fast lol

I believe that Quick-Tap was removed from the App Store a few months ago. I currently use it, and it's kind of buggy. Sometimes the widget will not even load, and I have to remove it and readd it. I know that the developer wished to release a bug-fixing, feature-introducing update to it, but he feared submitting the update would bring it to Apple's attention and cause them to remove it.

Hmm, still not available. I'm anxious to try this app, I never got a chance to download it before Apple pulled it before.

Launcher Returns

*sigh* I hope Apple introduce Android on their phones. I'm so over the "walled garden"

That is complete BS...

"Apple relaxing over time" is just a cop out for the real reason Apple just refuses to say.... What proof are they trying to hide ?

An app developer deserves to know why, or why not their app was removed, put back etc... *exactly why* not a vague description.

Apple's just trying to be smart, instead of telling the truth...

It's not like it's a secret, like an update waiting to come fourth on OS X or iOS...its a app, so its already public..... It was just pulled for wrong reasons, Apple later re-instated because of so-called "changes" to a limited version that does more caught Apple's "limited span"

I agree that changes happen with policies, but again, i have to keep coming back to the old ways of saying "often people do not communicate well with each other inside Apple. If everyone agreed on the same rules set forth and never allow something originally that's not present in the rules, then there won't be a problem."

No wonder why developers choose to release apps outside of the App Store.. And for good reason. I would have. No app developer should have to put up with these constant changes that no one at Apple can even agree on, but later decide to change back...... across any app they choose.

Policies are there for a reason..... I understand its something users must follow, but i didn't know Apple could break them either. But that's what they are doing.

It seems useful to get to apps in folders faster. Also I just installed the update, I did have the App before. I had the widget disabled but I'll give it another try.

Launcher is available and downloadable on the APP Store.

The stories I've read say in-app purchase of $3.99. The App Store says 20% off for in-app purchase.

Is the $4 the regular or discounted.?

I have the app/widget but not sure how I will use it or how often.

Ok. I guess it is normally $5 and on sale for $4

Been covered quite well before--new features have new policies that get adjusted more often while it's all new and as new things come up. It gets more stable with time as more cases are covered and decisions are better thought out. It's been like that pretty much since the beginning so nothing new or surprising there.

It is actually free. $3.99 unlocks ability to add 3 more rows of apps, adjust size of each icon, and hide app names.

Having said that, I have used Launcher in the past and I didn't find launching apps from Today widgets screen to be better than the home screen. Your mileage may vary of course.

Where it shines is launching workflows from NC without having to open workflow and scroll through a list.

Notification center is now my new home screen!

Between reminders+, widgetcal, launcher, check the weather, TeeVee, Cheatsheet, Calcu-note, and Day+, I've got everything I need in the notification center. I've even remapped the home button to pull down the notification center (via activator). I'll see how well it goes over the next few days.

I'm very happy about that revised policy

----------

Hmm... if it were free I'd definitely download it to see if it were useful... but I'm having a hard time imagining that I would use it at all so I'm hesitant to throw $3.99 at it only to find out that it's useless to me.

Isn't there a free version ?

----------

If this is really permanent, and the take down is not temporary, I'll say goodbye to my Nexus 5 Android.

Over a single app ?

----------

So, perhaps someone can explain this to me.

Why is Apple so finicky about what they allow these apps to do? Don't they realize that if a user doesn't like what an app does, they can just remove the app?

It just seems odd that they'd be initially so against something so useful. If a user has a serious problem with Launcher wasting space, they can easily uninstall it.

App approval should be about stopping genuinely bad apps, whether that be malware, apps that destabilize the phone or have excessive bugs, and so on. There's no valid reason "Launcher" ever should have been an issue.

I'm not saying they were right in this case (actually the revised policy means they probably were wrong) but there are at least two reasons for that: security and influence on user's experience.
Apple basically don't want developers to mess with those aspects.

I just love that the name of the company that developed this app is "Cromulent". I think that name embiggens us all.
