    I have vmware fusion running windows xp on my macbook
    i noticed that some apps from the virtual machine are listed as programs that can open documents from within leopard.
    this behavior is very annoying because sometimes i will double click a document only to have my virtual machine to start up and open it with word in windows instead of leopard.

    I know i can change the default application for each document type but is there a way to eliminate all apps from the virtual machine from appearing in leopard?

    On Fusion's Menu Bar find "Virtual Machine"
    Then "Settings"

    Select "System Settings" -> "Sharing"
