I found out this morning that I had left my iPod shuffle, 1GB 1st Gen, in my trouser pocket before putting them through the wash.

It's drying out in the sun atm, is there any chance of getting it working again?

PS - I know it was a stupidi thing to let happen
PPS - This isn't an April Fool's joke, it's after midday here in the UK.

If it dries completely, it might work. But if you try to use it before everything is dry, it probably won't. I would leave it for a few days before trying to use it.

Yeah. Make sure you let it dry out COMPLETELY before trying to power it up.

Should be fine from what I've heard of others' similar stories and my experience with similar elecrtronics and their crash course in watersports.

The Shuffle is solid-state, flash-based, so short of contact corrosion there's no reason it shouldn't work just fine. You could give it an alcohol bath to displace the water. A THOROUGH drying is required, though.

I dropped my Treo in the toilet (don't ask), and after several hours in the food dehydrator, it was just fine.

another person posted about this same issue a while ago, and his/hers worked. can't find the thread though.
