How long have you had your iPad 9.7

Without images there is not much we can comment on.

I have the ipp in my possession for a few day's, so I'll be sending it back.

It's hard to capture LCD on camera because of the glass. I did manage to take and uploaded these photo's where as you can see at the bottom the light bending and wobbly.

Got a chance to examine a few demo ipads at the retailer.
The Air2 and ipp 12" did not have this screen issue. The ipp 9.7" demo did!

The manager acted like I was nitpicking, but did expect better quality from Apple and this kind of money.

I'm sending mine back today and i'm curious the fine out what Apple has to say.

The reflection is from the glass, not the LCD. (the LCD does not reflect)
If you can only notice this by looking at reflections and unless you've bought the iPad to use as a mirror, you are probably making your life far harder than it could be.

Agreed and maybe it's a case of ocd but still, this isn't a $100 mediapad for the kids.
I expect the best quality when buying apple and i know they can do better.

Don't get me wrong, I expect the best quality too.
I have checked my 9.7" pro with a reflection and I can also see some small degree of distortion in the reflected image.
However, when I look at the iPad itself, and at the screen image coming from it, I can only see a perfect screen, perfect glass, perfect image.

This distortion seems noticeable and it might cause some distractions when you're using your device and light is reflecting off the screen. If you're not happy, you should return it. You've spent a lot of money on this device, it should be working and be of the quality expected from a new device. Maybe it is a one off fault and an exchange might be suitable.
