One of my friends has a 1G MacBook, and about a month ago, she dropped it; everything was find except the LCD, which cracked.

Apple wanted 800 friggin' U.S. dollars!

Well we both agreed that was absurd. She bought a new LCD from eBay, and I installed it with no problems.

Now I'm wondering what I need to do to dispose of the LCD? Where would I take it?

Most counties (or municipalities) have a department of public works or other entity in charge of waste management. Call them up and ask if they have a free electronics hazmat drop off day once or twice a year. Sometimes you have to register in advance.
