I'm looking to buy a LCD monitor for my new macbook but I don't know where to start.

I will be doing mostly design work on it and I want about a 22" display, but haven't a clue about what brands i should be looking at, screen resolutions, etc.

I don't want to spend more than NZ$500 which is about US$250....yeah its a crap rate

...compare refresh rates, the lower the ms rating the better - most are avg 2 - 5 ms these days... also the higher the contrast ratio is usually better...

I also found it nice if the stand raises and lowers... portrait to landscape rotation is cool when you're looking at it in the store but I haven't seen much of a real world use for that yet...

Dell 2209WA 22" TFT Monitor 1680x1050 3000:1 300cd/m2 6ms USB/DVI-D/VGA E-ISP

Have a google, it has an IPS panel which means you will get a better colour accuracy, plus it rotates and makes you breakfast if you shout DELL!! three times.:D

Do a search for a Samsung T220 or T220HD. The HD one has a TV Tuner built in. I got my T220HD from Amazon for £199, but the non TV Tuner one is only £149. Use a currency convertor for prices, I don't really know.
