LCD TV and Mac do not work together, how will it?

Hi,

I'm having trouble connecting my macbook, with mini dvi, to my LG (32lg5000) LCD TV with hdmi input. I have connected my macbook and tv threw mini dvi --> dvi --> hdmi.
But my macbook is not detecting any displays. Could someone help me out?
