My daughter tried installing LOL on my 2012 iMac and as soon as she hits launch the thing crashes. Anyone have any experience with getting this working or is it a lost cause.

i also have a 2012 mac so just check with your Disk Utility that you have enough available disk space. I only have 52.47 gig free.

Space is not a problem, I have a 3TB drive with 1.8TB free.
I found an alternative last night using a command string and launching the game from terminal. It's an extra step or two but at least she can play the game! Thanks for responding Paulk.

I tried to play League of Legends but my internet connection is too poor for me to even be able to download the game in less that 5 hours. So I gave up.

I'll try to remember to post the command and site I found the fix that works for me here tonight. I'm in a network support position so after 10-12 hour days and some at home work I don't get on my iMac at home until the weekend.

I suspect that in my case it is the poor internet connection I have that is the problem. It shouldn't have taken 6 hours to complete the downloading, but it did, and then I couldn't start the game. I've never managed to start it, even using launchpad.

jtrainor56 your link is not launch command, it is a bug report...

The sudo line is the command line to be run from Terminal

Also if you scroll down to the comment from Shackup, he give the command line for Terminal as well as an explanation
