its a faker, he need us to start his hoaxes.

otherwise he would take hi-res pics, detailed stuff about new improvements, etc etc.

Can't be 100%, but square pixel path around the home button makes it look pretty fake to me.

It's a pretty shyte rez pic though. Could just be artifacting.

I always question the sanity of people who use laptops this way.

Color me insane then. Tapping the trackpad is way easier than clicking it, and I don't ever recall making an accidental tap the had any negative impact.

TBH, it looks like an iPhone with a cover that says iPod on the back, I say it's fake.

Yes

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8G4 Safari/6533.18.5)

It would be pretty bad ass if the entire screen worked as a button (like the trackpad) so you can go home. You tap the screen to select something or click the screen to go home. :-D

That would be incredible!

Just make sure i don't HAVE to click it down to type etc.. because the blackberry storm is a miserable experience.

I say fake for two reasons:

  • The area around the "new" home button looks a little different than the rest of the surface of the iPod.
  • Though it's not very clear, it looks like the capacity is listed as 12(X) GB. From what I've seen in any mass storage device, 8-10% of the storage space is missing for whatever reason (my 32GB iPhone has 29.1GB.) Even if it says 120GB, that's only 6.25% gone.

Capacitive Home Button?

Wait, why would anyone want a capacitive Home button? It'd be such a nuisance to tap/touch it by accident. I don't like it :(

That would be cool!

This.

The settings also show a 128GB capacity.

If this were a genuine 128GB unit, the settings would show something like 118GB capacity.

128 GB (storage size speak = 128 billion bytes) = 119.2GB (binary speak)

Subtract about 900 megs to a gig for the OS (judging by the stated capacity on an iPod touch 4 at iOS 4.3.1), and you have somewhere around 118-118.3GB.

Have you ever gone to move your finger across the trackpad and find that it registered it as a tap instead? Drives me nuts.

Maybe years ago. But when you move the cursor you tap and move your finger across the trackpad. When you tap to click you tap and lift your finger. Two different gestures. Just because you can't do it doesn't mean there arent people that can.

Completely fake

Okay, anyone with any intelligence can tell this is fake.

1. Camera positioning is wrong, the positioning of the camera would be closer to the middle of the ipod, because the image sensor would be to wide/thick to fit there, its not like the iphone which is not rounded.
-in image 4 you can also see that the camera was photoshopped in by the pixel patterns
-photo 1 you can see fake shadowing opposing the camera to make it look as if its real, but really giving away its fakeness

2. capitative button, the idea is cool, but apple already discussed this option and said it was unreliable, and would cause many to lose battery life from heat activation.
-Also in image 3 you can clearly see it was photoshopped by the blurring, repeating and the swirling on the fingerprints.

3. Capacity, the actual and physical capacities of a device are different, a 128 gb ipod would have 120gb physical. then some more reserved for apple so 118gb
-also photoshopped, if you noticed the added blur in the area of device capacity, its because there is. also the focal point is distorted by the blurring effect so it proves the photoshopping

4.DVT-1 that is the name commonly used for the development of iphone, but each test was labeled with its respective code such as N90, or its respective XXGB meaning which has come to be known as the common for test items, because the cases are manufactured the same for many levels as the internals are tweaked and tested.
-photo 1 shows a blured capacity like 64gb, not the same as the 4th pictures dvt-1
-photo 4 is filtered to much, and has photoshopped DVT-1 which would be an improper labeling

so in conclusion macrumors should remove this or label it as fake on top, its completely fake, and not even a good rumor.

Not sure if anyone else picked up on this point, but that dark greenish colour and the uniform band of reflected light on the display, it its' off state in the picture, is characteristic of an OLED/AMOLED display, when off, TOTALLY.

If this is real, then it looks like AMOLED has arrived, at least on this prototype, anyway.

If I would leak something, I would make sure the device is clean, the camera is in focus and there is enough light.

Why are leaked images (almost) always such bad quality?

Perhaps these leaks are done by the same people who leaked UFO sightings back in the day.. omg maybe apple is using alien technology  !

First Blackberry Storm. Texting was terrible since every character needed a push to register.
