I completely forgot about airflow. But you're right. With the advent of the MBA, it's not a given that Apple will come out with something that won't overheat.

Any chance of an expresscard slot on the MB (I'm willing to bet "no", but I might be mistaken)?

Don't get me started on how bad the airflow is in my MBP. The thing is an oven, and fans often come on at 6000rpm because the case is too thin. Thin isn't always a good thing, especially in a powerful laptop that is going to generate a lot of heat.

Maybe a third fan would be useful to actually push air around and help the hot air come out the exhaust.

True, but at least our MBP's aren't having core shutdowns because of the heat.

Yup. Or a completely redesigned interior. Or perhaps a combination?

What would be nice is if there is a fan on both the left and right side as well as one on the back. That could really push the air through.

Even one on one side and two in the back would do good.

The slot-drive looks way to close to the bottom of the notebook. I call this fake, but i think that the notebook will look just like this.

One thing that I just noticed about this "ad" is that it basically competes with the MacBook Air. I doubt that Apple would use the same advertising points for two of their three notebook lines. By pointing out that the MacBook is now "thinner than ever before," they would give customers a good reason to choose the MacBook over the MacBook Air, especially since the latter will probably be more expensive. Thus, this picture means one of three things:

1) Apple is dumb.
2) The MacBook Air is being changed or discontinued.
3) Nothing. It's a PhotoShop job.

My money's on #3.

16:10 became standard when widescreen LCD displays for computers came out a few years back. But you will start to see it moving to 16:9 as blu-ray moves to the computer. You just got to know if the resolution is right it wont be any problem.

Hey, I appreciate the response and all but it seems a little ill-informed. 16:10 became a standard much longer ago than just a few years. 16:9 is what the industry is moving towards not because of blu-ray, but because of HDTV and the fact that it will be cheaper to produce panels if they are all one aspect ratio.

True, ever the more reason for apple to go 16:9

Yeah but it makes for sh it reading, where's it going to stop? The correct aspect ratio for most uses is 4:3, that's why they originaly chose it, we 've had to suffer the sh it 16:10 just cause some bozos wanted to watch "movies" on their laptops...I have a 13" screen in a macbook that's shorter than my 11.5" inch ultra portable with a 4:3 ratio, and now as if from some bad dream it's getting even worse in terms of reading real estate with 16:9...and don't give me that crap about vertical toolbars, 95% of the people I know don't place the dock vertically and have thus even less reading length, neither are the human eyes capable of scanning the length of the screen all at once, so what's the use? Granted, maybe graphic designers say could benefit, but it's really for the average joe wanting to watch "movies" that the rest of us who want our computers for more important tasks have to sufer through going through spreadsheets four lines at a time. In reality they should have been making the screens longer not shorter.

Thank god for lenono and their 4:3 laptops...too bad it's vista....

It looks much nicer, I just don't like the idea of terrible wifi reception, warped casing, and burn your balls off heat, just like the current Macbook Pro suffers from.

I totally agree.

Alienware's gone up to 2880·900 (3.2:1).
