This is what I've been saying: Mac Pro can be saved only if they make it modular just like that and Nvidia already doing that a while ago. Killing Mac Pro was a biggest mistake.

In other words, the cheesegrater. Because what was exactly what it was.

You're assuming we all don't get that already. The whole "you'll come to understand.." is more than a bit patronising.

It's not that stories don't need Mcguffins, it's about doing so while maintaining "suspension of disbelief".

For what it's worth, it wasn't my intention for that to sound patronizing. It was meant to be sarcastic and critical of bad writing that papers over plot holes and other problems with tropes or simplistic rationales that are worse than just leaving the holes be. I just didn't bother fleshing out the point I originally had in mind when I started typing it. It wasn't meant to be patronizing or critical of you or your comment. Re-reading it, well...ouch. 🙂
