Leaked Schematics Suggest 128 GB Storage Option for iPhone 6

199$ - 16GB
299$ - 64GB
399$ - 128GB

would make a lot of sense. 100$ for the first additional 48GB, 100$ for the next 64GB.

(Right new it's 100$ for the first additional 16GB, 100$ for the next 32GB, which is a bit uneven, as well as expensive.)
 
Yeah, I'm thinking the 16GB is for the budget iPhone.

They drop the 32GB completely and 64GB is the starting size, hence the $100 price increase. And if Apple is planning on introducing higher quality music, which usually is larger size files and requires more space, this would all make sense.

So the phones will come in two models. 64Gb and 128GB with the price being $100 higher to start with.


All speculation of course...

I honestly hope the only thing to separate the 5.5 from the 4.7 is the larger screen and storage capacity options. If it's got a faster processor or better camera etc,that I won't like. I wouldn't want to purchase the larger phone to get all of the features.
 
Yea maybe a wireless chargin but well made and not the bulllshhit that out there now
A range of 10 meters will be ok i guess
 
What is with people and wireless charging? It's so gimmicky. Unless I can charge my phone while still moving about a room with my phone in my pocket, I couldn't care less.

I really hope they stick with those prices you listed above. I doubt it,but hope they do.

Uh no. No way they're keeping 16GB and dropping 32GB. Well, I guess they can but I doubt it.
 
It has seemed ridiculous for a couple years now that Apple didn't bump up the storage space. I guess I figured they'd go from 16, 32, 64 to 32, 64, 128. I didn't really see how they'd do this. The people that paid $300 for 32 before, would now only be paying $200. So, they would lose out on all that profit for the crazy amounts they charge for more memory. I guess they beat that by keeping 16 as the low one and skipping 32 all together. 16 is not enough for me, but 32 is plenty. So, I will continue paying for the $300 phone I guess. At least I get an extra 32GB of space. Maybe I'll keep more music and videos on the phone. That is of course if any of this is true. 🙂

You know when I first heard about it I thought it was cool. The g3 has the feature, but then I read about it and its meh. Doesnt really give you Any more freedom then charging with a wired charger.

Minimal convenience advantage isnt worth the price to me. I'd have to pay for the 60dollar g3 circle case AND buy the wireless charging accessory which was like 70 bucks last time I checked.

I agree completely. I clicked here to say this exactly. I also think it's to drive up that initial $100 price jump. 16GB just isn't enough, but the margin is SO much higher on the 2nd tier, so Apple wants to encourage that even more.

i wish but we have to remember that we are talking about apple here. the company that bothered to introduce a 8GB option in this day of age instead of just dropping the price of the 16 GB one ...

I want 128 GB in my iPad for videos, but it seems overkill for a phone. Still, if it's true I'm glad because many people on this forum have been asking for it.

I don't think you get the joke... the increase was so small that it obviously wouldn't matter. To make a comparable joke about battery life you would have to say:

Apple is doomed for having a 10 hour battery life. They need to have at least a 10 hours and 2 minutes battery life. Going from the current half day battery life -> 3 days would actually be very impressive and would throw Samsung's entire Wall Hugger campaign out the window.

Perhaps Apple is keeping the entry-level model at 16 GB, but replacing the 32G and 64G upgrades with 64G and 128G, and retaining the same prices (+$100 and +$200). It would provide an incentive for more people to upgrade, and boost revenue (and profit).

Yes, it would be better for the consumer to boost the entry-level phone to 32G. But like the automobile manufacturers that start with entry level cars no one wants, and overcharge for the "options" that everyone wants, it's a proven business strategy.
 
Jeez, apple. Seriously? It's 2014! They should at least have a 100TB model by now. Guess it's time to pick up a samsung droid x alpha universe pro developer's edition.
