Always always always get a case.

I almost always get a case that has a clear back so I can appreciate the color.

I have a 16PM and to say it's thermally challenged would be being generous. If I run Waze and iTunes via CarPlay while the phone is charging in my car, it will frequently get too hot and stop charging. Heat was/is a real issue with the Titanium chassis.

I'm at 2 years with the 16 come September so this year will be a cheap upgrade for me. The dark cherry is growing on me. It's different yet it doesn't scream LOOK AT ME! like cosmic orange.

And cosmic orange grew on me after a while. By the time I was in a position to get a new phone, we were half way through the year and I decided to wait for the 18.

I have just change the battery in my 13pro. I guess I can wait a few more month after the release to see if there is any issue with the 18pro. I'm using usually a case so chipping is less of an issue, discoloration maybe more the issue. But then it's just a phone and after 4 years nobody will care if the color is still unblemished.

I wish they would release more bright colors. I want a phone that's easy to find. Currently I'm using a fluorescent yellow partially transparent silicone case.

Supposedly changed to a pink color, in reality my phone is just as orange as day one.
Well, they didn’t all fade. Some - or even most - owners, like you, had no problem. But the fading occurred often enough to become “a thing.” A friend of mine was one of the unlucky ones. I have to think the issue was confined to a certain part of the early production run. If that’s the case, then buyers of the 19 Pro probably won’t have trouble.

I always use a case because of work and lifestyle, so exterior durability is not much of an issue for me.

However, the new Apple marketing mantra could be:

"Excellent on the inside...Crap on the outside"

Hopefully there won't be any issue. Was scared that paint will chip on my 17 Pro Max but happy that everything is alright and perfect with my Orange 17 Pro Max. I always use a clear case with it.

Seemed to have been a couple of units, haven’t heard anything about it since the first few weeks after launch.

My Product Red 13 Mini has had the Apple red case since I originally purchased it new years ago. It does not get used much except when we go to the UK. This time I will get a new on demand SIM card on O2 again.

Most of the pay as you go plans have ONLY SIM cards so Apple has lost their prior data base of those customers whose cash flow does not allow them to go on a contract or they like the ftexibility to change carriers at any time.

I'm not gonna lie - I used the 13 Pro Max, 15 Pro Max, 16 Pro Max and now 17 Pro Max. The 17 Pro Max feels like a toy when I revisit my 16 Pro Max. The material change is disappointing. Plus side though, is it does run cooler. So tradeoffs I guess.

Honestly the dark cherry / burnt burgundy color is amazing and the one I would pick. However, the light grey is also cool and, if the dark colors may suffer from discoloration, then yeah I would buy the light grey one.

The baby blue / sierra blue? Oh no! That shade of blue again, after the 13 Pro and the 14? Why?

If I recall correctly there was a brown, or chocolate or copper color also rumored for the 18 Pro, right? A light brown or cappuccino color would be nice.

Guess I will be waiting for the iPhone Pro 19. Someone needs to file a class action lawsuit against Apple over the surface chipping to teach them not to do that again!

More concerned with next year's 20th anniversary durability. That wraparound screen is going to be a tough workaround for case designers.

Cinsider buying the new model near the end of the production year. The kinks should have been ironed out and you still get the same warranty. You have had the time to read about any design issues and if they were resolved.

Yeah, I can’t see buying that phone. I suspect that if I don’t upgrade to something in the iPhone 18 family, I’ll just ride things out with my current phone for a few years.

That’s unfortunate. But if I had to choose between the aluminum getting a little scuffed and a titanium iPhone draining the battery and getting hot, I’d choose aluminum.

Missing the glossy black finish of my iPhone 7 Plus. 🤔📱✨
Space black on the 7 was the epitome of iPhone design so far I think. Don't get me wrong, I love the square edge styled iPhones too, and arguably the iPhone 4 is one of the best iPhone designs ever... but there is just something timeless about the seamless look to the space black iPhone 7. Jony Ive even mentions in the video they played at that keynote that it was the ultimate culmination of iPhone design. (paraphrasing)

It makes me very excited for the rumors of the 20th anniversary iPhone having the screen glass seamlessly curve over the edges. Pair that with finishes that are like space black and I think it would be an incredibly gorgeous looking & feeling device.

If true, this could be a real mess. But if not, I'll just shrug off this "leaker" along with the rest of them. Either way, I still want Dark Cherry!

I will be out of the country when the iPhone 18 is released. So will "miss out" on the opportunity to order on day one. Given what I have seen thus far in the iOS 27 beta I have on a spare iPhone Air qualified by Apple to run the AI version, no need to rush for me.
