So... if a friend of mine purchases the single user copy of leopard. Is there anything that prevents my "friend" from installing one copy on both a MacBook Pro and iMac running Tiger?

No, Apple OS' don't have serials/keys needed to install them.

yes...the EULA states 1 computer per license...unless it is a family pack.
