Hey,

I am interested in learning a programming language and am just wondering which to start learning. I have next to no knowledge of any computer languages and am looking for one which isn't too difficult to learn, yet is useful.
Can anyone offer any advice on what they believe to be useful to learn and not seemingly too difficult for a first language; any advice on where to learn it from (website, book etc.) would also be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Kurrosh

Python is considered by many to be a very clean, easy-to-learn language. It takes care of some of the messy details for you that many other languages don't. It's built-in to every Mac.

Here's a link to the official Python tutorial. I should add that when learning to program, it's useful to have a good book. I would search around for an intro to programming using Python book with good reviews.
