Hi as a newbie to app development for iPhone I was advised to learn objective-c first to make life easier.

Now I'm ready to take the next stage and learn Xcode. What books would you recommend to help learn Xcode?

What I've noticed are a lot of the book written are for older versions of Xcode which could make learning tricky! What do you think? I'd prefer as up to date as possible.

Lastly I have recently purchased a Kindle so would love a book that is in kindle format. If you know better books that aren't on kindle please list them anyway as I'd rather buy the better publication.

While it's not what your looking for, there are some excellent video courses on iTunes U for free. I'd recommend the Stanford one. The visuals really help in learning the Xcode IDE.

Thanks for this info, as I'm learning objective-c I feel I'll learn faster if I start trying to put it to use in a basic app. It's only then I feel I'll truly understand what I'm doing :D
