Leather Link Band - Shipping Thread

Just received my Black Leather Loop a week early surprisednto get it on a Saturday. I love it very comfortable and I think looks great with my Graphite SS Watch.

Interesting the apple one has the magnets sitting in the dips. The hooky one doesn’t. I guess this is what you pay for also as expected the leather is much nicer.

Thats not correct. The magnet arrays are identical in both straps, with no magnets in any location not shown by their physical presence (large pill shaped objects). What you are seeing is the incorrect orientation (polarity) of one strap vs the other. If you flip them around, you can achieve the exact same "locking" effect as the Apple strap.

I like the way you seem to know the tests I have done. I am very familiar with magnets and polarities. The ebay copy will not get the magnets to sit in the dip.

Apple clearly have this sorted correctly. The ebay one will only sit peak to peak while the Apple one goes into the dips.

Feel free to get an ebay one to compare

Apologies, you are correct.My eBay band does sit in the channels, but does so when its actually not in "correct" orientation as per what works on the wrist. When its in "locked" mode, the magnets are indeed (as you show in your pic) NOT alternating. I dont think this has to do with magnets in the dips but it is apple has clearly figured out a better orientation of the magnets whereby they settle interlocked and not "on top" of one another. $1Trillion figures out a lot of stuff, and this is definitely one! I ordered 2 apple LL bands, because they are IMO the nicest bands apple ever made.

No worries. To be honest the LL are over priced but they are significantly better. I am tempted to get the Baltic blue for days when I need to tone down the look.

So far the LL is the best strap I have had.

I agree, its the best Apple Watch band I ever had. Best looking, most comfortable and easiest to put on/take off. And I dont even have the apple one yet! Im certain its even nice and better all around. Thats why I got two colors. Its so $ but I wouldnt pay that for any other style that is on sale atm.

Wow that looks really good. Gold and blue is a great combo.

I have to say though, sometimes the Apple Watch doesn’t look like yellow gold. I wonder if that’s the case with the new iPhone.

I've been super indecisive with these Leather Links. I originally ordered my new SBTi watch with the Baltic Blue - canceled it and reordered with the Inverness Green Sport Loop.

Ordered a separate Baltic Blue Leather Link - saw the delivery was in about a month and canceled it.

Today ordered a California Poppy which should be here Wednesday.

Really like my black leather link band. Has anyone tried using it in reverse, so the the tan faces outward? I tried it yesterday and it is not bad. Like two bands in one! Both look good with my SB Titanium Series 6

since the lock only faces downward I'd be worried it might slide out. Prob looks ok tho
 
you can't swim with this leather link.
but what about sweat ? does sweat while exercising have bad effect on it?
 
Returned California Poppy... color is too “mustard” like for me... hoped for a more orange color.
I also did not like the design as it is rather tricky to close it without readjusting.
Went with a solo loop instead.
 
I can’t believe this thing still hasn’t shipped. I’ve seen people now ordering and getting them a few days later.

Also, the site updates are kinda nice. Being able to zoom and not have it restricted to 0 or 100% is nice.
 
My Baltic Blue order placed on Oct. 6 has finally moved to 'Preparing to Ship'. Ontario, Canada delivery.IMG_0046.jpeg
