I've been using the leather loop for a few days now and it does seem like it's broken in a bit. I don't really feel the "false taptic" effect from the band anymore, so I encourage you to stick with it if this is an issue you've been having.
Very pleased with the leather loop now. Still doesn't feel like leather (ironic, I know- but that's another issue) but it's very comfortable.
