So Im picking up a smart cover tomorrow along with an iPad 2 and was wondering which case are you getting? I was originally getting black leather but now I may go with grey poly.

None. I might get a black Macally Bookstand2 which does the same thing but also products the back for $10 less than the Smart Cover. Smart Cover is pretty much a $40/70 stand. It offers zero protection so I can't bite. But if I were to get one I'd get the cheap one b/c it has zero resale value either way.

I read a couple reviews where guys said their poly cases got scuffed up really easily just by putting them in their briefcase (they were using the light grey poly). That alone got me to change my mind to Navy leather.

Neither, as I'm sure, over time the side of the iPad is going to get scratched.

I'm hoping someone will make a ultra thin case in the style of the official iPad1 case.

I'm just going to sit and wait for the 1st "Smartcover is scratching my iPad2" postings that I can guarantee we are going to see.

Poly I guess. Since the covers are in contact with the table and whatever is spilled on that table I would prefer a wipe clean surface like the poly. The leather may be more scratch resistant but some spilled coffee or condiments on the leather is gonna leave a mark for sure. I agree the poly colors tend to suck but the gray looks OK.

If the poly is anything like the current iPad case - AVOID

Dust+smudges everywhere. It picks up dust like a magnet

I will be getting the gray poly for my white iPad because it is the light, classic Apple gray that has always went well with the white. Also, because I have seen some review pics of a navy blue leather and it looked nasty with so many streaks and scratches. I think the guy above claiming it was the poly should reconsider the navy leather because it looks much worse scratched!

The leather ones are stupidly overpriced (well, they all are) and will surely show scuffs like crazy (which will make me lament having spent 70 dollars on it) so I'm going with the poly. Blue or Grey, haven't decided yet. (white iPad)

What's the return policy for Smart Covers?
I may pick up a blue poly but I feel like I may change my mind with the colorfulness and want to exchange it for a grey one.
