Lately when I've been leaving home my automation for "the last person leaves home" doesn't seem to be running. I've tested the automation to ensure that the scene works correctly (turns my lights off - test confirms that the lights turn off). After leaving home I can look and my lights are still on even after the Home app has time to refresh.

I'm using an AppleTV 4th generation as my home hub. TvOS11.2 and I've rebooted it since the problem began occurring. I do not know if this issue was happening prior to 11.2 though.

Initially this was happening with my iPhone 6S, but I've since upgraded to an iPhone X and even after a reboot it's still occurring. Both phones were running iOS 11.2 when I noticed, I do not know if this occurred prior to updating.

Any suggestions? Anyone have a similar issue?
Thanks,

Wouldn't hurt to sign out of iCloud on the AppleTV and then reboot it, then sign back in.

Manually triggering for now. Believe all remote access capabilities are broken for “invited users”. Update is supposed to drop “early this week”.

Interesting... I have a way of tracking when my "when everyone leaves the house" automation (to switch our ecobee thermostats to "Away") activates, and the last time it ran was on 12/6. We all left the house at the same time at least once since then, so I think the temporary server-side action Apple implemented due to the exploit is indeed the reason it isn't running.

I'm wondering now, if iOS 11.2 is vulnerable, how long will they leave the server-side change in place even after they release a fix via 11.3 (or 11.2.1, etc.). I wonder if they can lift the server-side change granularly... Any HomeKit home that has any iOS devices with 11.2 will still have the server-side "fix" applied, but any homes where all iOS devices have the updated version of iOS installed will not.

Hopefully we will see a fix for this today or tomorrow.

I think likely it will come via 11.2.1 instead of 11.3. I've not seen Apple drop a minor release without beta's in a long time.

So, I'm not seeing it yet on my iPhone - I wonder if it's because it's enrolled in the public beta program, and they didn't release this to the beta program.

Leave Home Automation also failed me today. I will see tomorrow after this 11.2.1 update how will it react.

Update: the Sunset (less 15 minutes) automation worked as it should. It has geofencing included (when someone is home). Maybe its good now.

I wouldn't believe that.

The coming home scene also worked for me earlier (probably a proper wifi is detected), but when I left home it didn't have any triggers, maybe that's why it didn't turn off everything.

I have the same location geofencing issues.

11.2.1 - Leaving Home automation is not triggering. Arrive home does in fact trigger as which is strange.

I have logged out of iCloud, changed home location several times to try to fix it. Nothing has worked.

Anyone else still having issues on 11.2.1?

Leave home worked today. I don't know how fast, but the lights were switched off after 40 minutes (it was when I checked).

I have no had any issues whatsoever with arriving home.

This morning with 11.2.1 I still had issues with leave home, the automation was not triggered. My Apple TV is now at 11.2.1 and my iPhone X is 11.2.1.

However my home is shared with my SO, and I've not been able to update her phone to 11.2.1 yet. I am hoping that once her phone is updated the leave home automation will begin working again.

Is she part of the automation (when everyone leaves)?

Yes, she's out of town though so I don't know how that factors in. 1 her phone is running 11.2, and 2 she's currently out of town. Seems like when I leave that the automation would trigger, but it didn't today.

Yeah that's strange. But maybe since they did the fix, it needs to see her once again before it works.

Updated to the latest release but still having issues... is anyone else having these/or can test?...

Homekit set up to share with partner (I’m set as the primary one)... when WiFi is on, everything is fine for both of us... however when switching off WiFi (replicating being out of the house) - I can see homekit devices fine but partner can’t and comes up with an error saying unreachable.

Homekit was working fine before they stopped it... and the latest release only seems to half fixed it.

Can anyone test... if you’re sharing your home, can the other connect to devices whilst on cellular 4G (rather than WiFi).

Thanks

(I suspect that is why automations are not working when leaving home as it can’t connect to devices remotely for the shared person when outside of the homes WiFi).
