Leaving an iMessage Group

Is anyone able to confirm, if you LEAVE an iMessage group, are the other parties notified that you've left?

They know. Instead of Leaving, just mute it. You won’t get pestered by it and nobody expects anyone to remain present in a group chat.

They will see if you’ve left, and of course they can see the current participants too.

Ideas:

• Fake your own death
• Move to a country with a national firewall (Egypt, China, etc) and use that as an excuse
• Tell them you’re switching to Android
• Change your username to match someone else in the group, then leave
