leaving the ipod touch in a dock

i received an ipod dock (Sony ICF-ClipMK2) as a Christmas present and i actually just set it up today. i had the music going for about an hour and took it out of the dock and noticed it was a little warm.
this has me wondering..
if i were to leave the ipod sitting in the dock for days at a time, could this be dangerous?
will it decrease the battery life at all?

Don't worry. The ipod can be left on the dock all the time, and it will be just fine. Don't worry about it and just enjoy your music. 😀

It likely was warm because it was charging while playing.

It's one thing I hate about most docks, that they charge and do not give you an option to turn the charging off. Therefore I am not buying one until i find a GOOD one that has that option or does not charge at all.
