LED backlight iMac?

So with the whole "A greener apple" deal and the LED displays by 2008, does this mean that the iMac will receive these as well? or is that only for the portables....? 🙄

No, that includes the iMacs as well according to the information and discussion, but when and what order the transition will take place with remains a mystery.

Brighter screens, more color depth, even less power consumption (which doesn't mean so much for desktops).

Unless you're extremely worried about the electrical bill. Arn't LED bcklight displays typically brighter then their older counter parts?

Oh, and they are supposed to last a lot longer then the older kind.
