I had it on for a while but people do tend to think you're like taking pictures or something so I stopped using it.

I stopped using it because I feel like people in public thought I was taking pictures around/of them.

Edit: Didn't even see the comment above me, lol.

Most of the people on my team at work have iPhones and about 75% of them have this turned on. Considering turning it on but wanted to get peoples opinions on the feature.

Don't. It's extremely annoying. Most people who use this are narcissists and could care less about how distracting led flashes are to the rest of the world.

Don't, you have no idea when it might go off, I was laying across two seats while on the underground (very empty train) and got a text... whilst changing my music. Yeah, it looked like I just shot a photo of the 6'5 guy a couple seats down. He flipped. It also went off during a very dark lecture, which the college then thought I was recording..

It's great in movie theaters. ;)

I use mine but in a theater or lowly lit restaurant I keep the phone in my pocket or face down. Wouldn't want an ex-cop given a "reason" to pull a gun and shoot. I'd probably have to shoot back in that case.
