    Hi all-

I am wondering if there is a way to set this "flash" to go off periodically if I have a text message/email vs how it is set up to only go off when the message is received now?

Under Accessibility - you can set your phone to flash when it rings/alerts

Since no one seems to have read his question, he is asking if it can repeatedly flash. You know? Like Blackberries. I'm thinking you cannot do that. But if someone knows a way, I'd be interested in knowing.

Wow, thanks for actually reading the question. I am thinking there probably isn't a way to do it either. Which is too bad, this is one of the features I was looking forward to.

Nope, cause it's not notifications. It's just flash alerts for the hearing impaired.

    Check it out

    heres an idea

    go to notifications
select the item you are interested in - say "Messages"

Select it, then go all teh way down, try the "repeat alert" option

if you have the accessability flash on, then i would think this would work

My boyfriend (with his iPhone 4) thought I was crazy when I asked if an LED flashed when he got an email or text or something. That's definitely a feature that I'll miss. That flashing light catches my attention when I have an email or something. I had it color coded too, green for email, pink for texts, blue for Kik messages from the boyfriend. Guess I'll have to get used to actually turning on my phone screen to see.... haha

Uhm... Are you guys confused with droid phones having a led notification light? iPhone has never had that. iNothing has a front led for notifications.

You may have missed it earlier in this thread, but iPhone 4's CAN do this now. Not different colours, and it won't repeat it (well, it might repeat for iMessage / text messages, but nothing else). Turn it on in the accessibility menu.
