just something i found rather scary, you don't have to read the whole tread; a quick sumarize: the new LED screens are a strain on the eyes.

i find this to be true, especialy for text scroling.
are there any other people that find this to be true?

I actually find the CCFL flicker straining my eyes.

I have pretty sensitive eyes, but no problems whatsoever with the LED screen. Perhaps you have the brightness setting too high?
