I'm astonished that someone would block me based on my polite reply explaining that there are different personal tastes when it comes to lighting styles. I responded to what I thought it was a genuine question and took the time to illustrate my answer with pictures as examples.
Apparently some people think so highly of their own opinion that they get offended by anyone holding a different opinion. Blocking someone for expressing a polite, contrary opinion seems pretty excessive but he can block me too - I don't care.

I'm talking 4-6000 for a kitchen that a fluorescent box can push with 4 T8 bulbs, I don't see any LED equivalent.

For that specific application, I very highly recommend linear LED bulbs that fit the same 4-foot fixtures. I switched from 4-foot linear fluorescent bulbs to LED in my garage and it is a stark improvement in every way. They are noticeably brighter, have better quality light, turn on faster, and have no flickering problems. They are so much better that for months afterward, every time I walked into the garage and turned on the lights I got a little sense of surprise and satisfaction.

Just be aware that there are two kinds of LED bulbs that go in there. The first are 100% drop-in LED bulbs that require no modifications at all, this is what I did. There are also bulbs that require you to remove the "ballasts" from the fixtures first--the benefit is that these bulbs are cheaper, last longer, and without the ballast they are more energy efficient. In retrospect that's what I would have got had I known there were two kinds at the time. A little more work for installation, but it's simple work and once done the benefits keep on giving.

oh, a 25 dollar lightbulb. I can do my house for like 800$!

Not really intended as a home-wide replacement -- as the article points out, this is basically a decorative bulb for fixtures where it's prominently featured.

My block list is getting full today. This look like hipster bulbs or something you'd put in a 1920s home. No thanks.

Can you block me too please? My opinion differs from yours.

I just want nice, outdoor BR30 flood bulbs that work with Homekit without needing a hub and allow me to change a wide spectrum of colors of different holidays.
look at the lifx br30? oh...i don’t think it’s rated for outdoors. expensive, too
What do you do for kitchen, garage, desk/task lighting? I get the lumens I need for bedrooms/living room/dining room/family room from LED, but I'm having a challenge getting enough light in task areas from LED tech...
how many lumens do you need for a desk? or the kitchen? the lifx bulbs put out 1100 lumens w/their A19 bulbs...but they’re pricey. strip lights under the counter can go up to 2100 lumens...

Give me some SKUs or model #s :) Moving into a new house next week with a bunch of old bulbs and fixtures to replace/modernize. Hue bulbs aren't anything to write home about if you're not recessing 20 of em, they cap out about 600 lumens each... I'm talking 4-6000 for a kitchen that a fluorescent box can push with 4 T8 bulbs, I don't see any LED equivalent.

Check out Hyperikon on Amazon. The selection is great and removing the ballasts is easy. Watch out though, the light output is much greater.

Those are on my radar, but I'd definitely like the price to come down if I'm going to get six of them. From what I've read, I think they would be okay outside, since they are in an outdoor fixture and not exposed to weather.

i ordered 2, will be interesting to get them in april. i have 2 fixtures that use these Edison style bulbs, will be nice to get them on homekit.
