A couple days ago I got my new iPhone 13 Pro. I did a device to device transfer from my old iPhone X. This mostly worked ok but noticed that Apple gave my new iPhone the same name as my old one with a "(2)" after it. So I renamed my new iPhone 13 with something more appropriate. But now every morning when I leave the house my watch alerts me that I "left behind" my new iPhone 13 and referring to it by the "old" automatically created name, not the name I gave it. Is there some other setting I need to change to get this corrected?

Same here.
New iPad restored with my old iPad's backup.
New iPad renamed and old iPad deleted and traded into Apple.
But I'm still getting Left Behind notices with my old iPad's name.

This thread should probably be moved to the iOS 15 forum.

Maybe you are right and I'd have no problem with this being moved to the iOS 15 forum. I'm just not sure where it's coming from. For instance, when I launch the Find My app on my iMac all devices have their expected names. It's only when I leave my iPhone 13 behind that my Watch reports I left a device behind (with the incorrect name). If I leave my iPhone X behind, it doesn't report anything. And here's the kicker, due to an app incompatibility issue, I have my Watch linked to my iPhone X, not my iPhone 13. So this likely something to do with the new devices.

FWIW I updated both phone and iPad to iOS 15.0.1 and now the names are correct.
Thanks! I updated both my iPhones to 15.0.1. My Watch didn't have any updates from watchOS 8.0. I'll leave behind my iPhone 13 in the morning to test. Fingers crossed.

FYI... this morning I left my iPhone 13 Pro behind and got a "Left Behind" alert with the correct name. So this update must have fixed this. Thanks!
