I have a hot-rodded Power Macintosh 6500 that I would like to revive soon. The machine still works great but needs a new pram battery of course.
It would be nice to get a new drive installed and find installers for MacOS 8.6 and some legacy DAW software like Opcode Studio Vision, MOTU Digital Performer, and Bias Peak. Does anybody know where to find that stuff?
Right now it still runs a 60GB hard drive with MacOS 8.6, MOTU Digital Performer 2.7 and Peak (audio/sample editor). I have a Sonnet Technologies Tempo SATA PCI card and want to install an SSD and find these installers and a suitable version of Opcode's StudioVision especially.
The machine wasn't the powerhouse of it's day, but it has been upgraded with 500 Mhz G3, 128MB RAM, MOTU PCI card/2408 interface etc. I would be happy with basic MIDI sequencing, sample editing, and 4-8 track audio recording. No software instruments or plug-ins of course.
