i bought this off eBay thinking it was a knockoff, but it actually looks legit. Are knockoffs that good? Or is this a legit case? It shipped from China if that matters,

Nah the font on the back shows it's not legit. It's a knockoff.

Thanks. I planned on it not being legit. And what made me think it wasn't also is the green pull tab to open is just printed on and does nothing. Now to open it and see what the quality is like.

Don't leave me hanging

Case is great. I do t know if I could tell the difference. I'll have to compare directly when I see a legit one. But if I bought this at the Apple Store I'd be completely happy with it. Might order another color for this price;). Think it was like $12

Just as another tip, if you were concerned of a fraudulent product, you can take the UPC/SKU off the Product and call Apple, they can check both of those numbers and confirm if it's legitimate or not.

Wasn't concerned, didn't think it was legit when I ordered it anyway, just looked so legit when I got it, thanks

Unfortunately, this is the price you need to pay (literally pun intended lol) for buying Apple Cases off eBay. Some idiots in my country (foreigners funnily) are selling the iPhone 7 series leather cases as trying to pass them off as "original new" but you can see theres a black ring in the camera cut-out - a feature that was removed in the 7 series cases.

Its like buying cheap "authentic" Ray-Ban's off eBay, its always gunna be too good to be true. I never buy such things off eBay.

Even though it looks similar enough to the real thing, don't forget its not custom-built by Apple - so if it ever snaps, breaks, or scratches your phone...yeah, you know why. I've used Apple's cases 100% since 2014, and I have not had a single scratch or scuff on my phones, because I'm certain Apple designed them to be this way, e.g. look at the microfibre lining. Is it exactly the same in your case?

A couple of tips for purchasing on eBay, before buying is always, read feedback of the seller and always think twice if the feedback is not a solid 100% rating. Yep, 100%, anything below means someone was seriously unhappy about product/seller did something wrong. Reviews of the sellers products will often say things like "not original but close enough" - and then you know not to buy.

I get this, but I did not intend to buy an Apple case, I bought a third-party case knowing what it was. When it arrived it just looked and felt like an actual Apple case. That's all. I knew what I was buying and I'm very happy with it.

Just make sure you leave an appropriate review for the seller if they are indeed committing copyright infringement and deceiving customers.

I understand, but that's only because you knew better. If they were advertising it as such, they're still committing a crime and trying to deceive customers.

Indeed - like these idiots are.

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Genuine-...hash=item1c8099d57f:m:mWDcSe8FZb3TiytcdLdEXwg

"Genuine original soft silicone case" + Brand: Apple.

No its not, these are counterfeit. How do I know? There's an option for a yellow case and a begonia case, both of which have never been released by Apple yet for the 7 - nice try though. Deliberately misleading customers.

Point is, theres many, many of these kinds of sellers on eBay - tread carefully! At least buying directly from Apple, you have warranty, 14 day returns and the guarantee your product is genuine.
