So guys, what do you think of the newly announced Leica T camera?
I think it's minimalist design is a thing of beauty and I can't help but wonder if our beloved Jony Ive had some hands in the design process.

We all know he did some work recently on the Leica M for charity, but this new T model really screams Apple. Especially if you look at the touch-screen GUI, how it looks and how it operates.

Here are some nice hands-on early reviews of it.

Possibly see some influence in the body, but not the lens. The lens still looks old school and I doubt he would have used black for the lens color with a silver body.

I think it looks great. If I had a spare £2,700, I'd get it with the 23mm Summicron.

I read somewhere that it was designed by Audi. It does look good but I'm not sure the world really needs another lens mount...

Yeah, I read that too. Still, the similarities in look and design are so Apple-esque I can't help but wonder.

In this video, Leica's Andreas Kaufmann does his best to emulate Jony Ive and even mentions Steve Jobs' original iPhone description (comparing it to an old Leica).

Anyway, great as the T looks, it is a little bit disappointing that it's currently APS-C and not full frame. Seems there is plenty of room inside the lens mount to accommodate a larger sensor, so I'm thinking Leica will eventually release a newer model with FF, just as they did with the M8-->M9. Gotta keep people upgrading somehow, right? ;)

    I like the black version:

Goes with the lenses a bit better, imo. Still, too much money for an old sensor and iffy autofocus. Would much rather go for an A7s/r.

I love some of the stuff Leica produces, and, while I must say - on first sight -this is a most attractive, and (knowing Leica), doubtless exceptionally well made piece of equipment, I will await the reviews (with interest) before passing judgement on the actual model itself.
