Due to the short amount of time that the iPhone vibrates while receiving an SMS, I'm frequently missing important text messages. Now I was looking to adjust the duration of the alert and found several solutions.

    • The iClarified-method: SSH into the phone and modify a .plist.. It seems that this guide only works for FW lower than 2.0.
    • With Cydia and asVibra: A small app by someone in Germany. I've read many reports from users that are reporting problems with this.

Now my question is, does anyone have experience with one of these methods on FW 2.0.X? I prefer hacking the .plist, given the fact that I can change the length and frequency of the alert. So if someone can confirm that this works on 2.0, I would be very happy.

If not, asVibra will still do the trick I guess. Anyone out there who has used it?

    Thanks in advance.

The iClarified method worked for me on FW 2.0.1. The only difference is where the .plist is located. It is in the PrivateFrameworks folder not Frameworks. Also, so you don't have to install the Developer's Tools for the "editor" ... download PlistEdit Pro from VersionTracker.
