My experiences with Lenovo products have been all but tragic. Terrible cheap pieces of Chinese rubbish, with a failure rate higher than my sex life. I'm not sure a paid-off actor can persuade me to jump ship.

This is a farce of a statement. I've used a few Lenovo laptops($400 to $600 range) over the last 2 years and they are the best made laptops in the Windows universe. They are rock solid.

I bet you anything he uses an iPad at home. I've noticed a trend where all these celebrities are endorsing other smartphones/tablets but tend to have iPhones/iPads. I think money for endorsing these products may be a factor...;)

if he accidentally tweets from an iPad it will be talked about.

as for his comments, he 'designed' this, he is a major spokesperson, of course he's going to say he's not concerned.

but really are those specs going to win anyone over. in mass droves. time will tell. I'm not really impressed. it's designed for being the best media tablet more than anything else but watching media isn't all i do. Sure better speakers in an iPad or any tablet is nice but this might be a bit of overkill for something you are meant to carry around with you (as a tablet). I can't help thinking they should have been focusing on this as an Apple TV "killer" to be used in house. that current form would be great for second screen experiences

the only plus they have going is that the starting price is more or less comparable to the price of a wifi only iPad with similar storage. but i suspect that the size and form will kill any portability notions and thus the tablet in the overall

"And with the projector, users don't need to look for an HDMI cord or use AirPlay, because there's a "built-in 50-inch screen."

Oh so you mean all I have to do is find a good spot to put my tablet, on a flat, stable surface, in the middle of the room, and pray to god there's not a bookcase, or a fireplace, or window, or painting, or door, or an already existing TV in the room and away I go? Stick to "acting" Ashton

Lets see, a low lumen pico projector (near useless) and a subwoofer? (how? subwoofers need large speakers and enclosures to move the air around) and why bother with sound on a tablet, useless.

If I want room filling sound and a large screen TV I'll AirPlay it to my ATV3 or AirPlay speaker.

I can just see the closing to the Lenevo ad:

"Nothing says technology like Ashton Kutcher. Lenovo...."

For someone who promotes Apple so much in his television show (2 1/2men) this is interesting...

The projector's kind of cool, but it is totally like the car that Homer designed.

This. This is insane. And Ashton should talk about people having their fingers in lots of things. That's why you have an exwife dumba**

Well you guys are wrong.

From the Wiki :

Early life[edit]
Ashton Kutcher was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Diane (Finnegan), a Procter & Gamble employee, and Larry M. Kutcher, a factory worker.[6][7] His father is of Czech descent and his mother is of Irish, German, and Czech ancestry.[8][9] Kutcher was raised in a "relatively conservative" Catholic family.[10] He has an older sister named Tausha and a fraternal twin brother named Michael, who had a heart transplant when the brothers were young children. Michael also has cerebral palsy and is a spokesperson for the advocacy organization Reaching for the Stars.[11] Michael's cardiomyopathy caused his home life to become increasingly stressful. He has stated that he "didn't want to come home and find more bad news about" his brother, and " kept myself so busy that I didn't allow myself to feel".[12] Kutcher stated that when he was 13, he contemplated committing suicide in order to save his brother's life with a heart transplant; when he told his father he was considering jumping from a Cedar Rapids hospital balcony, his father dissuaded him from doing so shortly before doctors announced that a transplant had become available from an accident victim in another state.[13]

Kutcher attended Washington High School in Cedar Rapids for his freshman year, before his family moved to Homestead, Iowa, where he attended Clear Creek Amana High School. During high school, he developed a passion for acting and appeared in school plays. However, Kutcher's home life worsened as his parents divorced when he was 16. During his senior year, he broke into his high school at midnight with his cousin in an attempt to steal money; he was arrested leaving the scene. Kutcher was convicted of third-degree burglary and sentenced to three years' probation and 180 hours of community service. Kutcher stated that although the experience "straightened him out", he lost his girlfriend and anticipated college scholarships, and he was ostracized at school and in his community.[14]

Kutcher enrolled at the University of Iowa in August 1996, where his planned major was biochemical engineering, motivated by the desire to find a cure for his brother's heart ailment.[7] At college, Kutcher was kicked out of his apartment for being too "noisy" and "wild".[15] Kutcher stated, "I thought I knew everything but I didn't have a clue. I was partying, and I woke up many mornings not knowing what I had done the night before. I played way too hard. I am amazed I am not dead."[16] To earn money for his tuition, Kutcher worked as a college summer hire in the cereal department for the General Mills plant in Cedar Rapids, and sometimes sold his blood.[17] During his time at UI he was approached by a model scout at a bar[18] called "The Airliner" in Iowa City and was recruited to enter the "Fresh Faces of Iowa" modeling competition. After placing first, he dropped out of college and won a trip to New York City to the International Modeling and Talent Association (IMTA) Convention. After his stay in New York City, Kutcher returned to Cedar Rapids, before relocating to Los Angeles to pursue a career in acting.[15]

hehehe

:D

16:9 is a for watching tv or moves, and will make do as a laptop. 4:3 is a useful tablet.

For that reason, the Pro tablet comes equipped with a subwoofer and an 8-watt speaker, along with a 13-inch screen. "Because people use it in the home, we don't need to create this super portable device," Kutcher said. And with the projector, users don't need to look for an HDMI cord or use AirPlay, because there's a "built-in 50-inch screen."

So, the "Pro" model is primarily intended for entertainment and to be used in the home.

Are the non-Pro models intended to be used by business people and professionals?

This is actually interesting. Not that I want one, but it is good that they are trying out some neat features. I wonder what its actual battery life usage would be.

his character on two men and a random lesbian girl is always using iPads and an Mac Book air. i think one time he actually got in trouble because the macbook had stickers of his own company on it

For someone who promotes Apple so much in his television show (2 1/2men) this is interesting...

lol my thoughts exactly

Poppycock. The failure rate on Lenovo laptops of that price range is pitiful. Their service options for hardware failures are appalling. We supplied them for a couple of months and then reverted to the TOSHIBA systems. At least Tosh have next day on parts if you're a service centre. Lenovo was a whole different story.

2 month ETA on a mainboard for a system barely a year old (Z570 I think it was). We had to pay out of our pockets to replace that POS due to our strict SLAs. The reason being: they ship that many different models all with slightly differing screw placements and specifications, that they don't have the backing or infrastructure to support the crap they manufacture.

But hey, I'm sure your personal experience with two cheap Lenovo laptops makes my statement a farce.
