Is anyone using a lens protector with the Apple leather case? I'm concerned I might scratch the lenses or drop the phone and the lens hit a rock sharp edge. So I've been thinking about adding a lens protector but not sure if they fit within the Apple leather case lens opening.

That scenario is so highly unlikely to happen, that it's not worth even thinking about it nor spending money to protect it.

There's people that use the iPhone naked without any protection and their lenses are perfectly in tact. Plus, you'd decrease the quality of your photos/videos by a tiny bit. Not matter how clear the glass on the lens is! Not to mention it looks ugly.

At the very least-- if you work in construction or a higher stress physical job that has rocks everywhere and a lot of dust then MAAAYBE but even then, you're not going to be using your phone over a bunch of rocks.

Yeah I agree.

Unlikely to happen. The case already has a raised lip to protect it, the glass on the cameras is harder than the screen and lens protectors are damn ugly!

I’ve never in my ten years of continuously using iPhones ever sustained any damage to the camera lenses that would result in any noticeable degradation in image quality. Unless you can realistically see yourself in an environment where the lenses could be damage, I would say don’t bother.

Your iPhone's camera doesn't have issues focusing when a lens protector in installed? I tried all sorts and brands of lens protectors (including Spigen's Optik) for my 13 Pro. and they all caused focusing issues and other weird optical issues.

If you read my post I never said I got a lens protector yet. I said I was thinking about getting one and wondered what others thought. But yours is the first I've read about focusing issues with them.

Was happening to alot of people last year. I remember Spigen having to halt production of their Optik camera lens protectors. Other brands also stopped selling them for awhile. I don't know if they ever fixed the issue(s).

I did try two or three other brands on two different 13 Pros and one 13 Pro Max and had weird focusing issues with the protectors on all of them.

I use a Spigen on my 13 Pro, no issues. I’ve actually replaced it a couple of times due to drops and it cracking.

I must be the edge case. I have an iPhone 12 ProMax w/ Apple leather case and have cracked 2 camera lenses. It can and does happen. Hopefully, the replacement will not suffer the same issue. I want a lens protector that fits with the leather case. Does anyone have a recommendation?
