Leopard DVD for SL Disk Utility Repairs?

Can it be used to repair disk errors for Snow Leopard OS-X?

Mine is getting errors & some flashing screen and I do not have SL disc with me right now but only have Leopard.

I would say this is a bad idea.

Fair enough, just saw the info on Apple support that SL disc only repair any 10.6. The same goes for 10.5.

I was thinking the version of Disk Utility between them couldn't be that different but I was wrong.
