Leopard - iCal - Back-Up File Size Very Large

Hi...I just upgraded to new macbook pro with 10.5.2 from Powerbook with 10.4.11. On Powerbook, iCal Back-Up files were about 1.6 MB (7 years of events)....now on new machine in Leopard its almost 10 MB...is this possible?
