I'm sorta new to mac so this may be user error but I downloaded the VLC media player and dragged the downloaded player to my applications. It added it just fine but I have a shortcut to my applications in my dock and when i click on the applications shortcut on the dock it shows up w/o a picture. there is the circle with a slash picture and under it is the VLC player logo. It works fine and plays movies and all but I just don't understand why the picture doesn't show up and what I should do to get the picture to show up.

you mean a grey circle with a slash shows up in your application stack? thats normal. you can correct it by removing the stack and adding it again or relaunching the dock. its a Leopard bug.

that worked perfectly. Thanks alot man. I know its not a big deal but I made me mad just cuz I paid so much for the mac. Appreciate the help
