Is is possible to install Leopard on another computer? The DVDs came with my 17" MacBook Pro. I would like to install Leopard on a 15" MacBook that is currently running Tiger.

When I attempted to do this, it told me that Leopard could not be installed on the computer. The MacBook still has 20GB of free space, so I know that isn't the issue.

And ideas of what I could do?

Other than being against the EULA, the disks that came with your MBP will ONLY work with a similar MBP. Likewise MB disks only work on MB, iMac only on iMac etc....

You need to buy a copy of Leopard retail for your other machine.
