Leopard installation question

Hi all, if i'm going to upgrade from tiger to leopard what option do i select to preserve all my software & files?..........is it archive & install?
I just wanted to be sure before I do something hasty!

I would back everything up to an external, and then when installing Leopard you can restore from the Time Machine Backup.

If the OP's running Tiger, he doesn't have Time Machine, but you're right, he/she should back up to an external first. I suggest using Carbon Copy Cloner.

To the OP ... Archive and Install is the way to go.
