There are other types of leopards with populations doing better in other parts of the world. Not to take anything away from this, but it isn't like these are the only wild leopards remaining anywhere (because they are the only remining AMUR leopards).

For example, there is the beautiful guy in my current avatar - One of several leopards I saw while in Botwana last November. They are an incredible animal to see in the wild...

Fair enough, but I still want this particular species of leopard to survive.

Everyone else seems too concerned over the name of their next OS.

Just to play devil's advocate here: while it's sad that this subspecies of leopard is nearing extinction, the most ironic part in my mind is that endagered species in third-world (or otherwise depressed) seem to get more attention than the millions of people living in those countries...

How do they get more attention? Everything seems to be reported its just what people listen to and want to know about. i mean most people in the western world know about certain brands and sweatshops but it dosent really stop them purchasing those products. And considering the state of this leopard type it dosent seem to get alot of attention

point being? You want one kind/version of each animal/species on the planet?

And I certainly do too.

I was just trying to clarify for some people that replied earlier in this thread. Their responses made it seem like they thought those numbers represented all leopards in the wild, not just these.
