I currently have two macs, an Intel iMac running Tiger and an Intel Macbook Pro running Leopard. The iMac I use mainly for iTunes/Internet browsing. I'd like to put Leopard on it for Time Machine, but I was wondering if it would be possible to upgrade the laptop to Snow Leopard when it comes out later this year, and then use the Leopard license from the laptop to upgrade the iMac? Or is that in violation of the licensing arrangement?

Thanks.

Did Leopard come bundled with your MacBook Pro? If so, the license is good only for that machine and the disc you have is model-specific, so it won't install on your iMac.

If it is a retail version of Leopard, you would be free to install it on any Mac you choose, as long as it is only installed on one machine at any given time.
