I have a 12" PowerBook 867 with 640MB RAM. The minimum requirements for Leopard at a G4 at least 867 with at least 512MB RAM.

Has anyone run 10.5 on a 867 G4 PowerBook?
If so, is it laggy? How well does it run?

It probably doesn't have the graphics power (NVIDIA GeForce4 420 Go with 32MB of DDR SDRAM) and the system bus is 133 with PC2100 (266) DDR SDRAM.

I don't want to upgrade it if it it will take a huge performance hit. Right now it is running Panther 10.3.9.

Thanx.

i have installed leopard on the computer you're talking about. it runs fine. i never really tried running much software besides surfing the net though. finder and safari worked great 🙂

Leopard runs faster in general than Tiger, so you should be fine. If you really want to see some good performance, replace your stock 4200 drive with a 7200 drive. I did that in a 1Ghz powerbook 12" with 512MB Ram and it is very snappy.
